Groundforce Shorco does the Suffolk shuffle

Specialist construction equipment supplier Groundforce Shorco relocates its Suffolk depot.

The UK’s leading supplier of shoring equipment, Groundforce Shorco, is relocating one of its key depots to offer customers improved service.

The new depot, on Mildenhall Industrial Estate in the Suffolk market town, has closer links to motorway and trunk road networks than its predecessor in a rural area at Walsham le Willows near Bury St Edmunds.

Although the Mildenhall depot is only slightly larger at 1.2 acres than the Walsham le Willows one, it affords better use of space due to the nature of the yard surface and layout. It is also greener, as solar panels will help with the company’s focus on reducing its carbon footprint.

A former West Suffolk Council depot, it offers significantly improved facilities compared to the current site, with a modern workshop, improved offices and better amenities for the staff. It will stock the full range of light and heavy duty hydraulic bracing and strutting systems, trench boxes, trench sheets and piles, site safety equipment, and related products.

The new Mildenhall depot is one of 22 Groundforce depots throughout the UK and Ireland. The staff employed at the Walsham le Willows depot will all be relocating to the new site.

Groundforce Shorco Operations Director, Alan Cronin said: “As part of our drive to constantly improve our operations for the benefit of customers, we identified this new depot in Mildenhall and are confident they will see an even higher level of service moving forward.”

The move is well underway with kit expected to be transported from the Bury St Edmunds depot by mid-May.
