EUSR Excavator Mounted Vibrator & Pre Auger Course

This safety critical course introduces the learner to the theoretical and practical dangers of Excavator Mounted Vibrators (EMVs) and Augers.

Upon completion of the course learners will be able to differentiate between the various types of piling activities, understand Piling and Auger hazards along with the implementation of specific controls measures to reduce risk. 

The half day course can accommodate up to 8 delegates per day.

Course Objectives

  • Identify the dangers and hazards associated with the use of Excavator Mounted Vibrators (EMVs) and/or Augers
  • Recognise the hazards, and implement control measures for those hazards
  • Differentiate between types of piling operations
  • Recognise when EMVs and/or Augers should be employed
  • Carry out regular and daily checks of the equipment
  • Understand current legislation, policies and procedures associated with EMVs and/or Augers
  • Become aware of the correct position of use as well as the critical do’s and do not’s
  • Be able to safely attach, inspect and remove EMVs and/or Augers and gain practical experience in doing so
  • Be able to carry out function checks and demonstrate safe operation of an EMV and/or Auger
  • Understand the relevant information in HSE’s HSG150, HSG 47 and GS6 guidance documents

Who will benefit? 

Managers, supervisors, safety professionals, excavator drivers and/or operatives who are required to oversee and/or carry out work using EMVs and/or Augers. If you hire and/or utilise EMVs and/or PreAugers and haven’t had any formal training, this course is essential to minimise risk to yourself and those around you.
 

Certification 

  • EUSR photo id card with excavation qualifications stated on back of card
  • Groundforce Training certificate of attendance (in addition to EUSR card)
