Groundforce Shorco wins prestigious CECA award
Excavation support specialists Groundforce Shorco have won a major regional award that celebrates organisations leading the way in innovation in health and safety within the construction and civil engineering sector.
Groundforce Shorco won the prestigious Linda Grant Health, Safety and Innovation Award for its SheetMaster 2.0 system which combines the lifting, pitching, driving and extraction of trench sheets in one attachment.
It was presented to Groundforce Shorco in front of more than 300 guests at the annual CECA Yorkshire and Humber Dinner and Awards - one of the region’s key events for civil engineering and infrastructure professionals - on September 25th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Majestic Hotel in Harrogate.
The judges said:
“The winner of the Linda Grant Award, Groundforce Shorco, have developed a revolutionary new approach to trench sheet handling that represents a step change in safety during the installation, driving and removal of trench sheets."
“The new system, Sheetmaster 2.0, radically reduces the number of staff involved which immediately addresses the issues around people plant interface, and at the same time, eliminates the need for working at height. It can be used without the need for extensive retraining or indeed any behavioural change, making it straightforward to implement. A fantastic achievement and a powerful example of innovation and evolution in health and safety."
Danny Terry, regional manager at Groundforce Shorco, who played a key part in the product development and collected the award, said:
