SHEA (Safety, Health and Envrionmental Awareness) Core training is designed for all individuals who require access to both permanent and temporary utilities operational sites, including all levels of operatives, supervisors and management. The scheme, developed with industry, seeks to provide a uniform approach to health, safety and environmental awareness training across the utilities sector.

Course Overview

The training is comprised of several modules. These core modules are common to all utility industries and form the basis of health, safety and environmental law and practices. It is designed to provide evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge and awareness.

This course is currently available as a virtual course up to 8 delegates, to attend the course delegates must have access to a computer or laptop that uses a microphone and webcam.

Certification

Affiliated with CSCS and card carries the CSCS logo.

EUSR SHEA CSCS Card Changes

From 1 October 2026, the CSCS partner card status will be separated from all EUSR SHEA cards. The SHEA course will still lead to a green labourer CSCS card, but it will be issued as a separate card at an additional cost. Blue and gold CSCS cards can also be applied for, though proof of qualifications, skills, and training will be required.
