FAQs

What is a Single Slide Rail?

The Single Slide Rail is a modular trench shoring system featuring a single guide rail for installing trench shoring plates.

What are the component parts of the Single Slide Rail?

The Single Slide Rail system comprises Shoring Panels, Slide Rails and H shaped Rolling Struts.

Does the system come with any accessories?

Protection Rails: These are used to protect the top of the shoring panels during installation and ensure a long service life

Clamping Device: This is used when configuring ‘strut free’ excavations

Distance Pieces: Used as an assembly aid to align the base panels so they are kept parallel during assembly

What is the maximum shoring depth?

The maximum shoring depth is up to 3.8m

What widths can be achieved with the Single Slide Rail System?

Depending on configuration, trench width can range from 1.68 – 6.68m, and the internal working width is from 1.24 – 6.24m.

What is the pipe clearance height?

The pipe height (under strut) clearance is 2.4m

Are there any particular environments where the system would be beneficial?

The system is particularly useful in environments where there is a risk of settling.

What makes the Single Slide Rail system so versatile?

Maximum flexibility is achieved as the design allows for offset heights along the trench run. i.e. the Rolling Struts can be arranged so the pipes can be ‘pitched in’ along the length of the trench.

How easy is the assembly / installation process?

Because the Single Slide Rail system is modular, and due to the slide guide design, the assembly process is a simple and accurate process.

Installation is also made easier as the Rolling Strut assembly is firstly located in the lower section of the slide rail, providing the excavator operator with an unobstructed view

What size excavator is required for installation / removal?

Depending on the configuration / application, you will need an 18 – 30t + machine.

Are there any other possible configurations?

Yes, the system can be configured into a closed box for shafts, pits and other applications requiring a 4-sided solution. This type of assembly uses Corner Slide Rails, Shoring Plates and a Clamping Device for a strut free installation.

By using Corner Rail Posts, in combination with Rolling Strut assemblies, a large variety of trench dimensions and configurations can be achieved, making this one of the most flexible shoring systems on the market.

Do Groundforce supply any other Slide Rail Systems?

Depending on the application, Groundforce also supply Rolling Strut Double Slide Rail and Pile Chamber options: contact Groundforce for more details.

Is a user guide available for the Single Slide Rail System?

Yes, a user guide is available on request or can be downloaded from the Groundforce Technical Library.
